You don't have to put up with that default home page that your ISP or browser maker forced upon you. You can start up to the wondrous sights of Yahoo! and Excite, if you want. Fight the power by empowering yourself. It's easy to do.

Just follow the directions below and you'll be on your way to more satisfying Web journeys.

If you have Netscape Navigator 4.x
Click on the Edit menu, then select Preferences. In the Home Page box, highlight the default Web address (it begins with http://www.) and type in the Web site at which you want to start when you open your browser. Click OK to make the change take effect.

If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
Click on the View menu and select Internet Options. Select the General tab. In the Address field, delete the given Web address (it starts with http://www.) and enter the address of your preferred startup site. Click OK to make the change take effect.

If you have Netscape Navigator 3.x

From the Options menu, select General Preferences. Select the Appearances tab. In the Startup section, delete the given Web address (it starts with http://www.) and type in your new home page address. Click OK to make the change take effect.

If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x
First visit the site you want to be your home page. When you are at that page, click on the View menu and select Options. Select Start Page from the Page menu. Click the Use Current button, then click OK to make the change take effect.
